Default Rescue one returns to Thunderbird HQ

OK so a play on words (Triumph T'birds home).

Those that went to last years AR will remember the bike that I used, an old CB750, it had been sat in my front garden for 6 years and at a cost of £92 I got it all up , running and legal, well it's back after doing the rounds of those that needed it (hence rescue one), it's been away since the end of August.

It's been through the wars a little, so back for a bit of TLC, new indicators all round, new footpegs, new headlight, new mirrors, new handlebars & levers, new clutch cable.

I've got to replace the sump gasket and give it a dam good service, but a quick play with the idle speed and a clean and re-gap of the plugs has it running like a dream, so a bit of paint here and there, wash and brushup and it'll be good to go again, OK not the most thrilling bike in the world, but you can't knock the reliability.

most of the bits added have gone from black to chrome, so a bit bling now ( well for a H**da that is

Thunderbird HQ

Cheers Mark.

I remember it well from the AR last year - seemed to have a decent turn of speed too!

Makes me think of the term "war horse"

I reckon that applies to anything two-wheeled Mark gets on.................I distinctly remember him going past me at a rate of knots on a certain moped last year

well it's just about done, few cosmetic bits to do, the minor oil leak as well (got thursday off to do those), but serviced the brakes, front forks on Saturday and managed just over 150 miles on it, changed the crashbars over as well, but boy is it quiet, I'd forgotten that, it whispers along.

So the list,
New headlamp bowl
new indicators all round
New clock backs
re-fit screen
new levers (clutch & brake)
new handlebars
new handlebar weights
new air filter
new centre stand spring
new plugs (x4)
new front fork spacers
new front fork oil
new foot peg (right)
re-fit left foot peg
new clutch cable
new tank decal
full brake service
re-grease swingarm
general check over of all nuts & bolts
General lube of bits & bobs
bucket of soap & water.

Left to do

replace sump gasket
oil & filter change
paint exhaust end
paint mudguard and rear pod (perhaps/haven't made up my mind on this one yet).
