Default Removing a snapped bolt?

I was tighten up the front wheel brake disc bolt, but managed to snap the bolt in half, which has left half the bolt in the slot, I was wondering what would the best way to get it out

I've got one that's stuck. So can't get the front fender out for painting. Not a happy bunny.

all depends how it snapped and what remains in the hub really, a pic might help.

If you have snapped it simply through over-tightening, then drilling the end of the remains and using an 'easyout' type extractor is probably the easiest solution.

If it's snapped due to being cross threaded and being forced in anyway, then you might as well get the whole thing drilled out and a heli-coil thread insert fitted.

Thanks. It has just snapped due to over tightening

If you drill it out properly you won't need a helicoil, drill it perfectly central a size down from whatever bolt size it is and you should be able to get remaining coils out, I've done this method many times.

+1

I chewed up the head of a S/S Pro Bolt disc bolt, drilled the head off it and then the thread, as it wasn't coming out easily.

If you use a left handed drill bit, it might help the bolt to loosen enough to grab any bit sticking out with some mole grips and extract it that way.
