Default crash bungs are rubbish!

Had a spill on my bike yesterday - plonker pulling out on me. I must have been doing 20mph and I lost it trying to swerve and brake to avoid him.

Anyway, my right hand side R&G crash bung just broke off at the bolt and did nothing to prevent any damage whatsoever. The crash bung itself was barely even damaged.

I'm just a little underwhelmed by this and I thought I'd vent this here.

As you were...

Sorry to hear it dude.

-Write R&G address on envelope
-Take a pic of the bike
-Take pic of the bung
-Print pic of bike
-Print pic of bung
-Type and print "FU R&G" in biggest font possible to fit on A4
-Fold and insert all print outs into envelope
-Post
-Giggle to self as 'closure' occurs
-Drink beer
-Eat meat

Who loves you baby

I was actually so disappointed I left it at the side of the road. Having conscientiously removed the bolt from the path of oncoming traffic, of course.

I might go find it later... like I said, it was barely damaged.

I agree they only work in certain circumstances! My off was a bit quicker than 20mph though!

TBH i have seen a few fairing being smashed due to having bungs fitted and from what i have seen they only protect the bike if you drop it and even then not by that much as you end up smashing other parts.

i have a set of R&G bungs sitting here that i have been meaning to fit. i have dropped the bike twice at standstill and suffered minimal damage with the OEM brackets fitted.

but there are other people who swear by them.

I wouldnt fit r&g's if u paid me too. To many story's of them snapping and doing nout.

Custom made is the way forward you can choose materials and lengths you trust.
