Default Anyone delivered a baby?

That excludes the trained midwives we have on here.

My friend's wife was about 8 days overdue for her third child. Got a text this morning to say HE had delivered the baby girl at home overnight. No weight etc. as it was all a bit of a rush and he's still in shock. I know they were not planning a home birth so I'm now awaiting the full story.

He is the website manager of a National Trust farm so he's photographed a few lambs and cows being born but I bet that's the closest he's got to delivering a baby until now.

Good on him I say, but just wondered if anyone on here has had a similar experience.

Probably one of the greatest questions ever asked on a motorcycle forum.

And to answer your question, no. I would be up for giving it a go though. Towels, boiling water etc. I've seen period dramas.

Me too, regular as clockwork they are, I tend to stay in the garage on those days.

Lph, haven't done it, but what a wonderful experience for the couple.

Middle daughter was born in the foyer of the maternity ward late on a Sunday evening as it was all locked up. As far as delivering goes. I just grabbed her as she popped out. We had rung the bell and someone arrived to let us in so mother into wheelchair, I had baby and the midwife had the wheelchair till we got to the delivery room.

Well there have been quite a few pregnancy announcements lately...

And didn't someone ask a few weeks ago which vacuum cleaner to buy on this very forum?!

No.2 son arrived at home after a labour of 1hr 15mins. No time to get to hopsital and Mrs Jabba couldn't get to the car.

Sprogg arrived on the sofa before the paramedics could get there and long before the midwives did...... ruined the sofa, but hey-ho

Actually, once the trauma/shock of the birth was over, the experience of a home birth was really good. Calm and serene unlike a hospital would have been.
