Default Fuel Light

So it used to give me 25miles warning and at 10 miles to go it started flashing . Now it just comes on at 10 miles notice and flashes double time . I've been resqued twice by the AA coz there's rarely a service station within 10 miles when you need one.

Anyone had this problem, any cheep solutions? tell me it just wants a clean!

Use your sixth sense? Ya know if you've been gassing it hard, put fuel in ASAP once you've done say 80miles, or if you're taking it easy after 120? that's cheap

120 taking it easy???? I reckon my fuel light comes on at around the 150 miles mark. Just set your trip clock everytime you fill up and keep checking it. How does that sound?

Depends on your definition of taking it easy.
When I first got the SV I was regularly getting 140 to the light relaxed riding and 100 spirited. Now I'm lucky if I make it to 100 with "normal" riding.

Ah, down here in London the air is denser so we burn a richer fuel/air mix resulting in higher fuel consumption

Blimey this confirms I ride like a girl! I get 150 on before it starts flashing!

edit: 160 this morning! I always fill the bike up when its vertical, so maybe that how I get few extra miles

My fuel light has started doing the same. It flashes twice as quickly!
I don't know about the fuel left though. I haven't needed the AA yet!

Let me know if you find out why it's suddenly gone bonkers.

Round town the fuel light kicks in at ~95-100 miles. So much for cheap form of transport!
