Default Bomb defused in central London

Planting bombs is despicable.

The cowardice involved is off the scale. Blowing up innocent people - yes that takes guts.

In stark contrast to the bravery of those who defuse them. The bravery of people who go to a live bomb and take it apart is beyond belief. They have my utmost respect.

according the the Evening Standard (which is about as reliable as a whicker condom) it was intended for use outside a nightclub.

Not going to stop me from going out clubbing tonight & dancing like an eijit!

Shouldn't be a surprise, it's never been.

Yup, just around the corner from my office - there are lots of police and rubberneckers about, but nothing much else to see.

The fact that many nails were found is downright sick.

An open topped bus has also been stopped on Park Lane - I suspect that that's more to do with dozy tourists rather than terrorists.

Your right, it is disgusting. But unfortunately we live in a world of terrorism and at the moment, I cant see how anyone can escape from it.

Everytime I travel on the tube I wonder if it will be my last journey. Silly I know, but I cant help feeling that way. Even if Im off the tube, I wonder if it will still be in one piece for me to get home again!

If only terrorism didnt exist.

You don't need terrorism for that though .... It breaks down enough already

I was out in the West End last night (went to see David Cross - brilliant, and Daniel Kitson did a surprise turn - even more brilliant), and to wake up this morning and hear this on the news was a bit of a shock.

But it won't stop us Londoners going about our business. Even if several of us have decamped to a muddy field in N Yorks - totally unconnected I'm sure.

I'm really grateful to the people that spotted it and averted a catastrophe. Mind you, I wonder if it would have been taken so seriously and dealt with so swiftly had it been an ordinary member of the public reporting it rather than one of the emergency services.

Yes, totally abhorrent.
I am actually suprised that there have not been more instances like this,
due chiefly to the Governments intervention in Iraq. Don't see France singled out like this.
