If you're as cynical as me, then yes. I'm having real trouble reverting the OS. There are a million and one different OS downloads, and so far, four don't work. I feel a full root and alternative OS install coming on.

I'm using Odin to try and sort it. The program works fine, it's just finding the right OS!

pete, have you tried poking the reset button after you have installed the OS. sometimes these wanabee OS's need to install drivers etc.etc and the only way to do this is a complete hard reset. or shall i just shut up

I worked at NU when I first started off my career, went on the 8 week Cobol course so know the pain, and worked in GSBS in SS2 if that means anything....didn't do much Cobol though, I was working on mostly on VB and Java based solutions and their integration into the existing mainframe processes.

I started in IT in 1980 and Cobol on mainframe or assembler was the standard. I managed to avoid assembler and spent the rest of my time with Cobol. However, I was more of an analyst or designer in the later contract years and briefly for 6 months as a team leader at RBS, though still on Cobol systems .

If you get good enough do you get to be one of the Lords of Cobol?
