In the Newcomer class I could starve myself for six months and I'd never make up the deficit to the likes of Daytonas and MVs, let alone 10Rs and an RC8.
Was the newcomer race staggered? I.e. Classes started at different intervals?
They were at Darley so wondered if NGRRC do the same?

Not as such. They normally run two Newcomer races, one with two classes (under 500c, and Minitwins) and one Open for everyone else. Sometimes, as on Saturday, they run a single race with all three classes, all starting at the same time but with the smaller bikes a couple of rows further back on the grid than the open class.

Last year there was the ridiculous situation of a 200bhp S1000RR at the front and a 12 year old on a 30bhp RS125 at the back, which must have been a bit savage when he got lapped.

Anyway, I was passed by five Minitwins during the race. I'll try not to get in your way
