It winds and fires ok, speeds change and sound about right. Proof will be in the film I have loaded. Didn't want it back did you? I have an AE 1as well but it is poorly and missing its base plate. It will fire for three shots and then lock up. No idea what is wrong but it was only £2. I have only really wiped it over with a baby wipe.

I hope it tests out OK. Please keep it! Don't get me adding a Canon section to the storage boxes.
Had another fiddle around with the Tessar but still no joy.

The Eos 600 turned up today. Very pleased with it.

Cool, did you say you had one before or wanted one but couldn't get it? My negs should be here hopefully tomorrow and my order of SX70 Impossible film arrived today. Love Amazon Prime!

I had both back in the 80's so this is just a nostalgia trip for me.

Problem with the X700... Will post up pics when scanned.

I don't think this had a power issue Yoko, I put my finger in and blocked the shutter and then the winder locked until I flicked it to complete the cycle.

Sounds weird. What do you think it is?

No idea yet.

From reading, it could be something trapped in the shutter guides, an issue with the release magnets or something else.
