Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Just had my first MOT, was worried about the exhaust (Viper) stamped "Competition use only". Nothing was mentioned and I now have a MOT pass.

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Just been out for my first ride in the rain on the CBR and i've come back a bit disappointed - its left me with very little confidence in the tyres
They are Pirelli Diablo Strada's (sports tourers) and the rear end slid a couple of times even when I was going slooow. Unfortunately they've got loads of life left in them so there's no way I can justify replacing them (even if i could afford it!!) but I dont want to be riding with a niggling doubt in the back of my mind. In the dry they've been absolutely fine. Anyone got a spare set of Avon Storms??? |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I thought Diablo Stradas were basically Metzeler Z6s? I had those on my SV - a great tyre and back in 2005/2006 were "the" tyres to have on your SV.
Perhaps they need a little scrubbing in KJ?

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Well you learn something new every day!!! The bikes only done 3k miles in the last 5 years so they probably are from 2006!
Its just unnerved me a bit cos ive always ridden on Bridgestones which only ever felt completely secure. |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I did a TT trip, Santa Pod drag racing, Snetterton trackday etc all on Z6s - so I think the problem probably isn't the tyres

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Well thats a worry then cos I was only doing about 30mph and wasnt even going round a corner!
Probably just me being crap then, this was only my second ride since my surgery and my first in the wet for about a year. I'll try and put it to the back of my mind and see if it happens again. |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Tomfoolery? I wish!! Im being too careful with myself, it hasnt even been 4 weeks since i left hospital and i was told minimum 6 weeks recovery, but obviously the guy who said that isnt a biker and just doesnt understand!!!
Surely Luke must have just had his first birthday. He'll soon be needing this to match your bike Attachment 9085 Last edited by kellyjo; 14-06-11 at 03:57 PM. |
