Question Avon storms pressures

Hi ,

First Avons I've fitted quick question re tyre pressures , normally run 36/42 however Storms seem to feel a lot better at lower pressures . Does any one know what Avon recommend ?
Thinking of dropping to 34 / 38

Cheers Steve

No idea of the recommendation on them, but I've been using 32/36 and not had a problem.

Cheers Mark.

I like mine slightly softer and rumming 32/36 also. Seems good as the higher pressures didnt feel to right.
34/38 could be a good compromise.

I'll give the lower pressures a try , as I'm a keen pork pie eater (16 st) will try 34/38 , then try 32/36 to see how it feels

take it easy

Cheers Steve

They are officially supposed to be 36 rear, and either 33 or 34 front.
Not so long back Avon had it on their site as 42 rear and something else as the front, but a nice mod called Luckypants PM'd me to let me know that the info i thought was correct was in fact wrong, and they had changed it back to what I have quoted in the first line.

Interestingly, the don't list my Hornet but they do list the CBR (same sizes) and that's 36/42.

did they give a reason for the lower pressures on the SV? Larger footprint for lighter bike?

No reasons given, but you could try emailing their technical department who are very helpful. My Viffer is also listed as 36/42 and so is your Hornet (unless I got wrong year)....
