And why didn't you pick it up with your elbow like Colin Edwards? Bad luck, but you obviously know what you're doing enough to know it's all part of the game. Anyone that turns up with the intention of going as fast as possible would be mental if they didn't expect to crash once in a while

LoL, now that WOULD have been cool!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=K1UlEQtdUGc

I think even Colin would agree he was very fortunate it went slowly enough and he fell in just the right direction/way for him to have a chance to do something about it!!

pretty sharp, well up to throwing it down the track. looked like you tried correcting it just as it started to go, just a little too much i guess. good to see you bouncing back on ya feet, ronaldo would've milked it for a good 20 mins.
fantastic 2nd vid, pretty quick too.

Bad luck on the crash, it's no fun getting towed off the track!
Good show for getting back out there though.

As for fixing my bike, I always carry a few basic spares (and a spare bike!!) for 'just in case'!! .. I am well practiced with cable ties and duck-tape too!!

Bad news about your mates bike ... I take it he is ok? There were SO many crashes that day
Yeh he is fine as can be seen here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=111649

I felt well sorry for the guy who totalled the new R6. He must be gutted.

A footballer doesn't have a complete pack of bikes piling round the same corner you just crashed on (that your bike may have just left a pile of oil on too)!! ... if I am able to run out of the way, that is exactly what I do, and quickly!!

It happens, fortunately I am not a 'crasher' by nature ... but it kinda goes with the territory of pushing hard; is bound to happen on occasion! ... but those gixers don't get a fight from an SV650 by me always taking it easy ... I love riding close to the limits of the bike, I try and keep it on the rubber side down of that limit, but every now and then it's gonna bite me!!

Oh and if I have paid for a day, I am gonna use it!! ... That is why I take a spare bike AND some common spares! ... as Fizzy et all saw with my loaded rucksack on our French rideout, like a good boy-scout, I like to be prepared!!

As I said, got the bike going again that day!! .... but I am doing the job a bit more properly in slow-time now I have it back home ... like I have stripped it all off and fiberglassed the fairing already

See, next time someone asks me why I'm so slow on track, I'll show them that video Glad you're OK though, this is what trackbikes are for right? Bending, hammering straight again, and not caring...
