S & N swingarms on pointy
i have always wondered if the N swingarm is longer than the S due to the difference in chain link length. well it must be as a 15t-46t 110 link combination still has loads of play in the chain.
pointy S chain and sprockets are 15t-44t 108 link pointy N chain and sprockets are 15t-45t 110 link worn S chain and new sprockets 15t-45t 108 link is around 1/3 on adjustment new 15t-46t 110 link on the S is around 2/3 on adjustment. Re: S & N swingarms on pointy
The N is 1cm longer on the curvy and I think they continued that with the pointy.Yokes were dropped as well to give slightly different geometry.

Re: S & N swingarms on pointy
The manual gives a longer wheelbase for the N, 1440mm compared to 1430 for the S.

Re: S & N swingarms on pointy
that extra 10mm would explain things.
on a side note, i have gone from a 16t/44t (which is around 3t down on rear from standard) to a 15t/46t (which from the old setup works out at around 5t up on the rear or 2t up from standard) and i must say its a lot better for overtaking and tight twisty single track roads. only trouble is i'm trying to change to 7th gear more on main A roads due to the bike sounding like its revving its titzz off compared to before. |

Re: S & N swingarms on pointy
I am currently running 14-45 108 on my S and i find it nicer on the road and more enjoyable when having fun in the upper revs.
i love me a bit of noise |
