Expecting just one person to organise it all is selfish.
Unless the organiser is a masochistic idiot. Then let them get on with it... Thank god this is my last year doing the GM.

I do hate the fact that the AR seems to bring the worst in people on here. such a shame there's always bickering.

😀. Much the same when I was running a school boys football team. I got lots of opinions and views, but no one would run the line for me.

Typically I was super busy this year, just when the AR was closer to home. However location isn't a factor if I have the time, for me it's about meeting peeps and having an adventure to places unknown.

Good on you Daddyjob for getting this year's organised, shame I couldn't come, I bet it was brill!

Rich, Next year I should be free to help/attend, I'm available from September onwards to help organise and do any reckies if we want to give it a crack in Norfolk!

This really.
And the time to fit it all in.
Even our local group I've only managed 2 ride outs and 3 evenings.
One sv forum ride out.

That masochistic idiot will be me then! I've never got why people make it sound like hard work, it really isn't.
1) Find a Campsite near where you want to ride (ideally a pub, hotel & a village nearby)
2) Go ride some good roads and create a route
3) Take some mates to check out the venue & ride the route
4) Submit bid to Admin
5) Wait for it to arrive and enjoy!

I wouldn't hesitate bidding for next years again at all. Already trying to find where the base camp will be!

This year circumstances just meant that I couldn't attend & I'm sure that's the case for a lot of us, certainly in the EAR.

Your location for me was fine, just the timing, which will always be the case for the numbers that attend.

At least we had an AR this year, so thanks for Organising it, whatever the turnout

The only reason I didn't attend last years AR was due to being away at the time. I had enjoyed my trip to the same place earlier on in the year.

It's very much a case of put something together and see who turns up. People always have things going on and sometimes last minute things prevent people from attending.

I know the feeling, things get booked and sometimes the dates just don't match! Adventures to the unknown are always enjoyable-especially when a bike is involved.

i'll be going for next years as well so keep your eyes peeled!
