Re: Vintage film cameras
Got my Tenax and Dignette through today. The Tenax has a sluggish shutter, not the actual shutter action but the time between pressing the release and it firing is slow. Meter works ok.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Did I read about that somewhere? Was it Yoko? My Contessamat has auto aperture, it makes the shutter button travel really long as first it has to lock the aperture then adjust it, but it's a case of distance not time.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Think I am sorted. There are two screws on the front which then lifts off the guide and selector rings. The shutter mech is then accessable. I swabbed some lighter fluid on the gears and its now working! Listing said fungus in the lens but I can only really make out dust, and the meter not working (works fine!). Not bad for £2.99.
Oh yeah, struck Gold in the FED. Found a roll of Kodak Gold inside.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice looking Tenax that, Tessar lens and a bargain too. Well done.
I think I was looking at one a couple of weeks ago but got outbid. I went for a bimble round the Dales today. I took the Trip but never got it out of my pocket - too dangerous. I found myself not watching the road and looking around thinking about what would make a good photo. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Not the prettiest of cameras though. I think the Voigtlander Vito C is similar. Haven't been to the Dales in years. Will have to visit again. Theres a Trip 35 with about 40 mins left. Currently £19 plus postage!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Lucky with the Tenax! Yeah some of these things are just down to the seller knowing nothing, or can't be bothered to find out how to check anything. The Super Ikonta I bought has auto frame counting but the seller thought it was broken; it has a knob not a winding lever. Worst case: red window. Reality: the counter auto resets when the back is opened, and you know how long you have to wind 120 film to reach the first frame, nothing actually wrong with it.
