Next bike - GSXR600 2009 or CBR600F 2011?
I've had the SV650 for 2 years now and looking for a change. I have about £4000 to spend. I will be using it for 90% weekend riding and 10% commuting. I do about 9000 miles a year and hope to be keeping it for at least 2 years.
My heart says go with the GSXR600 because I've wanted one for years. They're amazing bikes, tried and tested, my main concern though would be it's practicality. It's extreme riding position could be a disadvantage in town riding and anything that isn't all-out, which makes up about 1% of my riding. On the other hand, the CBR600F has mixed reviews. A lot of people are saying it's just a dressed up Hornet which it is I guess. I'm slightly swaying towards the CBR600F for the better MPG and it would be easier to sell on with 20-30k miles. Before I buy I'm going to test ride both. Also I'm after a newer bike rather than the older designs. I prefer newer bikes rather than the old 'blocky' designs so older models are not really an option. |

Gsxr600 any day.. Better equipment and the riding position round town would be fine. Depends if you could put up with the cbr600f on weekends?

Get the GSXR, i've just got rid of a hornet, it was a very very good bike. But incredibly boring. Suzukis seem to have an X-Factor, maybe its cos they are made of cheese and rot so fast.

I would say GSXR but im bias because i have that model. They are not brilliant riding round town, but what sports bike is. you dont buy a bike like that to do 30 round towns all day, you buy it for its pure performance and the feeling it gives you when you ride it

A lot of the h*ndas really aren't as economical as you'd expect from such a "refined" engine.
Personally I'd get the GSXR. The position is alright so long as you don't get lazy and try sit bolt upright taking all the weight on your wrists. However, get the 750.

What Chris said... I've ridden both and I'd take the 750 over the 600 any day.
The extra BHP and Torque of the 750 IMHO make it less tiring to ride as you are'nt constantly dancing on the gear lever to make the most out of the rev happy 600. I've only ridden a K6 600 and it was fine around town, much more comfortable than you think. Bike's should be bought with the heart, if you go for the Honda, if you are like me you'll be thinking what if... all the time...

get a 750 for sure, the 600 feels gutless in comparison. k4 onwards 750 will blow you away

If i ever get a supersports bike again it will probably be a GSXR 750, well that or an RC8. Both would be heart purchases like!

The 750's have got decent bottom power chased Christopher on his 750 up the twisties and it was hardly revving The 600F is okay but needs revved.
