SV650 storage space options, ( no top box).
Hi All,
I ride to work everyday and so far have had 3 -4 punctures which every time I had to quickly ride home before so moving forward want to have the minimum kit in my bike so can ride when punctured. I hate the top box so don't want to buy one just for sake of carrying it few pieces . As well as been ugly it is also expensive , i think I need to spend a minimum of £100 for the bracket and the box ( more like £150-200) so to cut it short , I don't want to use it and only have the underseat which can only fit few items in there so are there any other options for me ? Mine is SV650 2005 model many thanks |

May I suggest using the space under the seat?
Then you can carry on with whatever you already have? Jambo

You can fit plenty "get me home" stuff under the seat.
Personally I'm just lazy and leave a tank bag on any bike 24/7, maybe likely to get nicked depending where you are?

What about one of the renntec grab rails? Just get a cheapo waterproof bag, a couple of bungee cords and just leave the "get me home" kit in the bag, on the bike, 24/7.
At least then if it gets nicked you haven't lost a lot. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-RENNTE...item19dc97f151 If that's out of your price range I've got an old one in the garage thats had a slight scuff if you're interested. |

I bunged Oxford first panniers on mine, I've never gotten around to taking them off...

sv650 storage space ( no top box)
Where's your tool kit? Under the seat or I the cubby hole by the rear shock? If it's in the seat the cubby hole should be free to use.

Re: SV650 storage space options, ( no top box).
thanks and sorry for the late reply.
I like the differnet ideas but the magnetic bag or just bag with bunjee cord seemed the best however again it doesn't give the bike that much of a great look (the bunjee cord). I can fit some screws etc under the seat plus the repair kit but can not fit my air pump ( it is a foot pump) so I am thinking of doing below, do you guys think it is safe ? Fit all accessories under the seat put the airpump in my bag which I carry every morning with me to work and also buy some CO2 capsules ( i think this is what they are called ) for occasions when I do not have my back pack with me so if punctured I can use the co2 filler. re putting the pump in my back pack , I am worried If I fall or drop the bike , it could seriously injure me as it is a metal and right at my back co2 filler http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40 or do you suggest using the tyre sealent and inflater http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WYNNS-WYNN...item2a16453e5c |
