The renthal ultra is 74mm tall. Svrider.com say stock bar is 50mm high so 74mm will suffice
Thanks for your time.

Mine have 60mm riders, but as they're clip one, the clamp sits sits below the top yoke, so I probably get about 50mm

But there's a lot less room inside the curvy fairing without something fouling which is an MOT failure.

It's more about the angle of the bars which improves my long distance comfort. The vario bars are so adjustable you can get a position that works.

you will need:

longer throttle cables
longer clutch cable
longer brake lines
a mount for the brake rez

the electrical cables for the switchgear are long enough you just need to disconnect them from the metal bracket under the front of the tank.. its a rpita to do.

its not just the height of the bars you have to take into consideration its also the length. renthal bars are longer.

the best bars for the job are renthal medium road.

are you swapping from a sport bike to a naked?

Almost done. Oem bar on pointy svs. Finally got the brake line and was bemused by the inflexible steel pipe?? Abs version unfortunately adds complications and I wish it had regular brakes now. Not sure how to weave the brake line through the engine area. Mechanic is thankfully just down the road. Has been slow to get parts for this old scoot - clutch cable came from interstate and they had no brake lines in Australia - month long back order, so had to get on ebay.

Was thinking renthal medium but zeta offset risers were on sale, which I thought could add more adjustability once longer brake line is fitted.

Wouldn't recommend a new clutch cable if existing one is good an broken in as new naked piece was 1 maybe 2 cms longer. Pita to replace in my case and worse than the throttle cable. If I was to repeat the process I would have bought a naked twist grip rather than now ill fitting clip-on throttle barrel.

It has been a while since I have done anything to my bike, but I have just fitted heated grips, which means I can wear thinner gloves and thus keep riding a little longer despite the arthritis boinking my hands. Not riding much meant that the grips slowly drained my battery, despite Oxford's declaration of not doing so, but after recharging my battery, I can confirm the loveliness of said grips.

To combat battery drain, I fitted some marine grade switches, with little glowing lights that tell me if they are left on. I also added a switch to my power socket and it all looks factory fitted, I could not be happier. Well I could be happier, I could have a better body. Anyone know how I can get an up grade to one with working knees and less witchy looking fingers?

Be happy folks, let's hope that we actually get some riding this year.

Hmmm, that sounds doable.

To quote one of my favourite shows regarding a unicorn...

****ing e-Bay! Cheaply made, sold for premium prices parts that fail after less than three rides! The switches I used for my heated grips and power socket, which were supposed to be marine grade and water proof... are not.

The switch on the heated grips failed and has now been replaced. So much for not buying cheap and nasty electronics off of the internet. Everything is now running beautifully and I took the bike for a hundred mile blast around the Somerset levels. This was to celebrate me and the wife being together for thirteen years, the only relationship I have had that is longer is with my SV, albeit by six months!

Nice route. I recognise some of it. Looks like it was a perfect day for it.
