Battery charging and tank raiser questions.
What revs does the battery start charging from?
Optimal height to raise tank? |

Re: Random questions
Battery will start charging at tickover. As long as the voltage is above 12v (should be about 12.8 at tickover i think, maybe more) then the battery will be charging. At higher revs (above 4000) then the battery is charging more efficiently (receiving about 14 volts).
Dunno about raising the tank, I understand it just makes more noise. try a couple of washers under the bolts |

Re: Random questions
Raising the tank and removing the foam or heat shield will improve the air flow. What it adds performance wise is up for debate, but people far more knowledgeable than me have recommended and used it. Its not going to add 100bhp, but its not going to hurt it either.
Some details on the length (10mm) can be found here. As for the charging: From my experience it won't charge properly until you get to about 5,500rpm. Stick your lights on at tick over, then rev the bike to 5,500rpm and watch them get brighter, a simple way to see your charging system in action. And as a side were you riding through Old Town at about 5:30? |

Re: Random questions
Thought that was you. In which case do you need a hand removing the blue LED from the front of your bike?
