Default SV brakes

After giving my RGV 250 some welly, with the Hyabusa calipers and GSXR K7 radial master cylinder on, I have realised just how wa*k the SV brakes are. When I took the SV out today it was poor.

Now I know my RGV set up is extreme to say the least, but what are the best options for improving the SV brakes.

I have already fitted HH sintered pads.

Also I don't want the whole GSXR front end thing as the bike is a L0 so almost brand new, and I don't fancy bolting 4 or 5 year old parts to it.

Why not? They're better parts lol

I didn't have an issue with mine when fully serviced and HH'd up. (with stronger fork springs obviously)

What about the adapter plates to fit older style GSXR calipers?

The only problem I've seen was when SVRP had their measurements out. I think that's been sorted now?

Anyway, you're capable enough to spot if they're sitting right or not.

Decent service braided lines and HH pads!
Mine's getting HH's this weekend at some point. 11 year old OEM pads aint a good idea!!!

Dan is your an ABS bike or 2 finger ABS?

Nothing wrong with standard brakes. What is wrong is that many bikes are getting on a bit and the brakes need a bit of maintenance.Properly set up they can lock the front wheel and/or lift the rear off the deck.

Yank on the lever a bit more. Could endo or lock the front on my SV. Never really felt the difference between HH and OEM pads.

Brakes are perfectly adequate, just need to get used to them again and pull them harder. I had the same problem at the GM with Kilted Ginger's SV, I just about ran into the back of him about 10 times in the first hour.

If I was intent on improving the way they feel, not performance 'cos they can already lock or endo, then I'd do this...
