Default Bristol servicing and remapping?

Hi Guys, I recently moved to Bristol and it has come to the time when my SV needs a good service.

I've had a look for local garages, but really unsure of where to go. I also want to have the ECU remapped, but again, not a clue who can do it for a reasonable price.

I went into JHS Racing (although they are a fair distance away from me), but their prices seem quite extortionate. They want about £350 for a full service and £159 for an ECU remap!!

Can anyone recommend a place that's cheaper?

Thanks!

What counts as a full service? Oil, filters, fluids n a valve check?!

I am in Weston Super Mare and have a great place here that I use. It only takes about half an hour to get here from Bristol and you can head over to the sea front for an ice cream while you wait.

Anyway, give Steve and Sue a call at Bridge Motors and tell them that Jayney sent you.

My other half says you could head over to Bike Care, who are good.

Otherwise try Fowlers, although you can still expect to pay through the nose in there!

Hope that helps

£159 for a remap is about right as if done properly it takes around 3 hours work on the dyno.

Yea, all of the above. According to the SV service manual it's close to the 15k checkpoint (almost 30k miles on the clock), so almost everything on the bike needs to be check and/or replaced.

I actually tried to visit Tim Blakemore a few weeks ago. On their website it said that they close at 6pm on weekdays. So I turn up at 5:40pm and they are fully shut! Wasn't sure if they have closed down or something...

I heard JHS are supposed to be good, but they are very expensive.

I live in the Bradley Stoke area, hardly any garages round my area :/

Give Steve and Sue a call about your bike and if you do bring it over to them to work on, drop it off and then walk over to Scallys for a fabulous breakfast. After breakfast you could have a look around the new pier and even go for a dip in the radioactive sewage sludge we call the sea.

Weston is great and I love it here.

We have a few Orgers around here too, so it is always possible to meet up for a chin wag over an ice cream while your bike is sorted. Alternatively Steve has a viewing area so you can watch your bike being done. I tend to take a bag of doughnuts in to share and then sit there reading bike mags and playing with their dog.
