Still no joy. I traced the wires back and found which two needed to be looped together. According to Haynes they need to be orange/green and orange/white.
Found both and looped, however only the dash back light comes on and the neutral light. Other than the indicator relay ticking it appears to be a dead bike  Any suggestions? Could the ecu be damaged?
