Hi - Just joined
Hi Everyone,
Just joined the site. Have recently acquired a W reg SV650SY which I'm doing up mainly for doing track days on. It's got 46k on the clock, but has had a new (secondhand) engine at some time in its past. It's been in the wars a bit as well, as it has a few fibre glass repairs on the fairing panels, and has been resprayed black (did SY's come in black originally?). Work done so far - replaced gear lever, replaced worn sidestand with 2nd hand unit, fixed choke lever (wasn't staying on), removed and stripped fuel tank ready for sealant kit (rusty internals). Planned mods - nothing too much engine wise - probably just a K&N, maybe ignition advance key, but want to change linkages on the rear to jack up the back end, strip forks and get stiffer springs fitted, fit braided brake hoses & fit a new rear tyre to match the front. Hope to get it all done in time for a track day at Castle Combe in July, time permitting. Will be road registered as well, so might get out on the roads around South/Mid Wales later in the Summer.
