Default 2 Weeks Off!

Starting from tomorrow, 4:30pm.

In theory, this is a good thing, nay a great thing! But... The other half is working throughout, the weather is undoubtedly going to be cold, wet &/or miserable, I'm still skint having bought a house not so long ago and there's still a tonne of work needing done on the house.

Moaning about being on holiday? I think I'm turning a bit Wilky in my old age?!

Suggestions on how to fill a 2 week holiday without spoffing a shed load of cash I don't have, on a postcard please!

Instruction came out from HR, use them or loose them. So I submitted my holiday requests. My director has bounced it I cannot have a month off, nor can I have more than one week excluding Christmas as it messes up his plans. Can I move 3 weeks into next year.

HR have said no. He is now saying just take the time next year, only you and I will know. But he won't tell me that in writing. I just know I am to be shafted again

Are you any good with brickwork Viney, what about gas...hmm second thoughts not much that can be done at my house until I get council approval

As for 2 weeks off, read a good book? Do some DIY and find a repair a disused motorcycle...

Dan...NO! You cant afford me. Im only good at knocking brickwork down, and dont let me near gas...however my plumbing skills are basic and functional.

No books i want to read. Not doing DIY, i do that everytime i have time off and as for the bike. Hmmm, Doris is burning some oil, and i do have a spare slightly ill engine so might strip that down and see whats what.

Well, what a miserable, boring 2 weeks of tedium that was. Utter waste of time and I've achieved pretty much jack all other than chipping away at the seemingly relentless list of DIY.

At the risk of going all deep and meaningful (man), surely there must be more to it all than that.

Bah, damn sure this is not happening again next year.
