No, but my work is covered with pictures of them and I mention it every day just to ease every body into knowing I'll be getting one next year

Re: Anyone bought a Street Triple yet?
I test rode one and it was superb. Very quick for a naked 600, nearer to a SS600 than anything else. Much better wind protection with the official cowl on it than you'd think, but still a very good sense of speed. The only (very slight and cheaply rectified) niggle I had was with the position of the bars. I prefer either flat, slighty downward pointing or clipon bars, but the stock street triple ones pointed upwards (so my index fingers were lowest, rather than highest). It was only the waiting list and the very real possibility of having to buy a more practical bike for more commuting (probably the BMW F800GS) that stopped me putting down a deposit then and there.
I had originally intended to test ride a speed triple too, but I didn't think there was any point as the street triple is: a) Faster on real roads (including round the Nurburgring!). b) Cheaper to buy. c) Cheaper to run and insure. d) Still a big step up from the SV and more power than I can see myself wanting or able to handle well in the forseeable future. |

Re: Anyone bought a Street Triple yet?
looks like a nice bike but i've heard horrible things from mechanics.
The engine was described as a serious oil burner and they said the factory spare parts were terrible Quality Control wise. Would clearly be a hoot till it blew up though. |

Yup, great bikes. Reliablitity could be an issue but will see as the bike matures.
