Re: which new bike?
Quiff dear boy -
I can heartily recommend the VFR (800i would be my preference) however, could I add another possibility ? BMW GS (or GS Adventure) - either an 1150 or 1200 - whichever id more financially attractive. Whilst it's true that you won't get the same feeling as the gixxer - or even the VFR come to that, but they are fabulous bikes !!

Re: which new bike?
If I was getting a bike specifically for being old (and two up) then it wouldbe the Sprint ST out of the two you have post, although the VFR is a damn good bike too.

Re: which new bike?
Maybe the finance option on the new bandits then + sell trade in the gixxer? Go to a dealership and get yourself on for a test drive! I'm thinking of test drving a gixxer when i'm in the UK if i can get one booked.

Re: which new bike?
Reckon test rides will deffo be the settler for you.
With the churchmouse factor I'd deffo consider selling (& maybe buying)private (if you hadn't already)

Re: which new bike?
If you're tall get a V-Strom 1000 GT. It'll out tour a gixxer and goes pop pop pop bang bang. It'll still do a oner thirty easy (on a private test track) and out drag loads of things round the doors. It's also 6k less than a similar spec GS....
Seriously though just go and sit on loads and test test test. I've had more fun on the thing that me old ss600 missile and her indoors loves it. |

Re: which new bike?
Two good bikes without a doubt, but your missing a trick here to..
If I wanted a bike for two up touring, that was comfortable and easy to ride... I'd be in the marekt for a Bandit 1250, if you go with the GT model, comes with hard luggage and Sat Nav to... Test rides mate, its the only way you'll find out what you like...

Re: which new bike?
I nearly got the bandit GT sat on both back to back. The strom just felt better for me. Bikes are so subjective though you really have to just go and have a look!
