And so after 9 days of ownership and a wet morning I go to get the bike off the side stand and boot lands on some wet leaves and slips in the alleyway (hard ground) and bike goes over on its side and I’m standing there like a lemon. Obviously I’m still getting used to the additional weight on manoeuvrability

Two things, firstly it was early hours and dark

And second - bungs, they work with slow speeds

Usual scratches on mirrors and clutch lever and gear selector seems fine as I rode it to work but bike was secondhand so not exactly a show winner anyway but I was worried about being able to lift the bike off the floor on my own, the bungs gave it a little lift on the floor when you pivot the bike which helped me as I wasn’t lifting it from the floor completely

Yes aesthetically they are not pleasing but it’s hard to deny the job they do

Crash bungs are good for a VERY slow speed fall or simply dropping the bike when pushing/moving it, so in that respect they're worth it.

Frankly, anything faster and you're gonna damage your bike and yourself regardless.

Personally, I'd fit them.
