Default Wheeler Dealers

Does anyone watch WD for Mike Brewer's contribution? I liked to watch the program solely for Edd China's mechanical work Mike, to me, was an irritant that got in the way of Edd. I have found interacting with a car salesman to be as much fun as getting a tooth filled.

I saw a website that compared the new WD with Ant Anstead against Edd's series and they've reduced the mechanical work by about 25% (despite what Velocity and Mike promised). Fortunately, Edd now has a youtube channel (Edd China's Garage Revival) if you're suffering withdrawal symptoms, although there only seems to be one episode so far.

I quite like Ant but he's an accomplished presenter who's handy with spanners whereas Ed was an accomplished spannerman who was not bad at presenting. I rather liked his (forgive the expression) amateur approach as he was very likeable for it. Ant comes over as trying too hard to be a likeable bloke whereas Ed seemed to be one naturally. Just my impression anyway.

Mike is a cheeky chappy but his "lending a helping hand" is too staged and gets in the way of the mechanical refurbishments that we would all prefer to watch. And as I always watch the programmes off the Sky planner I spin straight through the buying and selling parts anyway.

I didn't think I'd like the change, but I've watched all this series.

Some changes don't work, like Chris Evan on Top Gear, or even worse ( I stopped watching years ago), but the format is broadly similar, although not exactly the same.

It's better than a lot of the guff on TV, and it's on my Sky planner, so I can fast forward through the breaks
