Default Joey.......

14yrs ago today since 'Joey' died "doing what he did best" in Estonia.........

Had the pleasure of 'sinking a few' in Joeys Bar, his leathers 'thrown in a heap' on the bar floor, 'lids' on shelves, bikes in glass cases on the walls.........
Unfortunately not spoke to 'Yer Man' tho....

Hard to believe it's been that long.
Truly one of the all time greats. The type of talent one has to be born with.
All these years later and still all around the world, his name is synonymous with the IOM.

Really doesn't seem that long. I was fortunate enough to see him ride a few times, brilliant rider and such a modest man.

It's a terrible cliché, but that man really is, and I mean is, not was, the king of the roads.

RIP Joey.

14 years!? As the Chinese say, 'Ho Lee Fuk'. Can't believe that it's as long ago as that.

Joey was, by all accounts, an amazing guy with unbelievable talent and skills.

I was privileged to meet him in the paddock at Brands many many years ago. Just him, his bike, a van and a mechanic (whose job appeared to be handing spanners when asked). Got an autographed programme somewhere. Haven't a clue what he said tho, I just nodded and laughed when he did.
