MOT failed, K3.
Took my k3 sv650 for an mot a monrh ago only to be refused on basis of the exhaust...then the indicators (integrated) but not the undersized number plate.
Im ok with this. Im past all the loud bike stuff and so just bought a cheap exhaust with baffle in the hope itll be quiet enough. Its a lextek trioval one for £110 new. Fingerscrossed itll work out. Indicators sorted now too with some oxford (overpriced) ones but they look nicer than those nasty plastic ones. Once the pipe turns up ill get some pics up. If anyone loves loud sv's....I now have a gp style zorst up for grabs

It doesnt have that sticker on it. Its a dan moto zorst. Well made and awesome sound on wot. Ill miss it. But needs to go. Reasonable offers welcome. Rrp new £120. In great condition. Slip on Exhaust only.

out of interest (and you do not actually say) why did that exhaust fail an MOT. I assume there must be not for road use or similar marking. My tester insists on a loud can as an essential safety feature. As there is not a loudness test within the test, simply a subjective appraisal. It is a very poor tester who would actually say a can is too loud.

The law states that the vehicle should not make significantly more noise than a new vehicle of that model with original system, or words to that effect. Most cans are a bit fruity, I've heard a couple that looked a bit like the above that were actually painful to be near. The tester may have felt this was a little too much. I'm guessing here.

My mot tester is an old grump and a young grump. They said they wont pass it cos its loud. Simple as that.

There's different kinds of loud though. Some fruity pipes will provide you with much aural pleasure, others just sound painfully nasty.
