Default Had a go on a CBR600RR

Had a go on a friends CBR600RR at the weekend. A bit weird feeling - felt a lot more "on top of it" rather than "being part of the bike". That said, once I'd got used to it, I really did like the feel of it. Not sure I'd buy one but I'm a lot more open to it than I was.
Obviously a very different bike to the SV with a very different price point before anyone points out the obvious!

One of the things I like the most about the SV is the instant grunt and go, from any speed in pretty much any gear. How does the Honda compare?

IMPO comparing a IL4 to a V-Twin is like comparing chalk and cheese.

Twins & Singles are about torque, IL4 & V4s are about power and triples are a nice mix of both.

I have owned an SV650S, SV1000S and an R6, but, have also ridden a GSXR600, GSXR750, CBR600RR and a CB500, so, while no expert, a pretty good spread by there.

At the end of the day you buy the bike you want for how you wanna ride.

I have the SV1000S for when I wanna have a nice easy ride, but, can have fun if I want, but, I ride the R6 for the sheer thrill.

The R6 is useless below about 7k revs and can be a bit of a nightmare in slow traffic/around town, whereas the SV1000S can "run out of legs" if pushed hard.

Glad you enjoyed the experience Amadeus

I guess the thing I noticed was the power seemed to just keep coming! It was a track bike with a quickshifter, and frankly was waaay more than I was used to or expecting.

I suspect it means that I get rid of the SV. Don't dislike the SV but it's the only big bike I've had so could do with a change, even if I decide after some time to go back to an SV.

I made the switch from my pointy SV to a cbr600rr. I don't regret my decision even a little bit.

Since the very start (1990s!) the CBRs have had that "sitting on top" feeling I've always hated, interesting it's still there
