Default 3 things I learnt today..

1- I don't want a Honda Hornet 600..

2- I REALLY don't want to get rid of my bike..

3- Never go too far when on a test ride incase it breaks down..

Rode a Hornet today but didn't like it. Not at all keen on the riding position and it didn't feel very sporty at all.. Got 6 miles and it broke down, oil light came on and stopped completely. Got it going again but same thing happened again. They picked me and the bike up in a van!

Decided that a CBR600F is the way to go. Will try and find on to test ride on sat.

So if you REALLY don't want to get rid of your bike, why the test ride? - Or was that decided after?

That sucks then. Replacing it with another bike, or leaving bikes completely?

1 - cause that wasnt f@cking obvious already

2 - keep it and get a **** car, a m/n/p rover will do, honda engine and electrics so good for 150k

3 - f@ck em, if the bike is Sh!te then they shouldnt be selling it.

if you want good bike for the 2k you were talking about then a tl is within your reach but im not sure if want that much of a hooligan of a bike. Other than that how about and SRAD gsxr-600 or 750, almost as much power as your rr, albeit older and ugly (depends on opinion, i love the white and purple ones) and cheep as chips, which after 8 pints i happen to find myself eating right now. At least work is forgiving and i tried my best.

have fun

SRAD's are great looking, from the age of big and curvy. I'm not biased in the slightest.

My SRAD makes 100bhp at the rear wheel but the power is much different to a newer 600 like yours. The bike has no guts what so ever below 5-6k and although great on track screaming at high revs, on the road its another story esp. filtering.

Ian, nice story there, some build quality issues maybe

For £2k you'll get an early 'Blade... You'd like one of those I reckon.

I take it the Hairnet was a "used" one......

Keep the bike Nick, you'll lose more than you'll gain. If needs must, commute on the bike, leave "work clothes" at the office and change when you get there. Did that for 4 years when I was working in East London... Commuted on the SV, the Falco, the GSXR and the 'Blade.

Thats exactly what I do at the moment! You seriously selling the bike just cause you want a car for the commute? If I wasn't on the bike when commuting I think I would've slit my wrists by now...mind you Maidenhead to Liverpool street station would take about 3hrs by car in rush hour!

Defo getting another bike.. But I need a car aswell, I work 2 miles from my house so getting the gear on and off again is a pain. I want to have a car aswell for other stuff. Can't survive with just a bike.
