hotmail inbox is empty!!!!

help!!!! I've just logged into hotmail and my inbox has been emptied of all emails apart from 2! please tell me this is a Microsoft problem?

I have no idea what's happened!

Mine are all there, does anyone else have your password? do you log in at other locations? have you ticked remember details boxes on any computers?

nope no-one else has the password, I only log in on my laptop or my iphone, both of which have been beside me all night since I last logged on!

I don't store any really important stuff in there and have most of the ones I would need on my iphone. I'm just concerned how they've gone missing, I'm gonna phone the Microsoft helpline when I get to work to see if they can tell me if they've been deleted or if it's a server issue with them. dunno if they would be able to put them back into my account?

it's weird tho, cos if someones gone into my account to delete them, they've then gone thru the deleted items folder to delete the specific ones from my inbox and left the junk in there!

edit re read, so some are in the deleted folder and others are missing? odd.

its ok, once i actually woke up and looked properly, all my emails from my inbox were actually sitting in the deleted folder. so thankfully, i've not lost all the info.

however it would appear i've been hacked, as my mate just phoned me to say he got 5 junk/spam e-mail things from me last night about cheap i-phones. so now i need to spend the morning trawling through all my stuff and changing passwords over! dammit jack!

People still use Hotmail, despite all of the security flaws?

I wouldnt have rated Hotmail any less secure than other web based mail systems.

I seem to hear about a lot more breaches of Hotmail than of gmail. Not that I use either.
