in reality no but always best to replace like for like.

search google for how a motorcycle stator works to get a better idea and decide for yourself.

Curvy had two types of RR one with two connectors one with a single plug

But both have 3 yellow wires if I remember.

Do a search of Electrex one using sv650 try again using sv650s, then you'll see both types

The 3 high current wires from the Stator are not polarized e.g they can be connected anyway round but as Bib says stick to the original setup and you can't go wrong.

The two DC wires from the R/R ARE polarized e.g they have a positive and negative(Ground) and MUST be connected correctly.

Have a read here,

http://puttingoutfires.x10host.com/M...sfetUniRR.html

The rules are the same.

When you say fine do you mean it's fitted and working.I would just check the polarity of the Regulator wires.

The negative pin on the Regulator should go to ground.
