Forks for SV650 99

Hello,

I have a 99 SV650. When I ride at low speed over pot holes, speed bumps etc an odd knocking noise and feel is experienced. I took the bike into a dealer who looked at tightening the head set and replaced the wheel bearing but couldn't find anything wrong.

I have a feeling i may need a new set of seals etc as one looks like it is on it's way out. No signs of leakage from them though. Previous owner had the fork oil changed so I suspect he though it was the same thing.

The forks are weather beaten so I'd like to replace them with some new ones or close to new but good spec. Any ideas where i could get some fitted and what would be a good thing to go for - i have heard SV forks are naff and to look at GSX/R forks? Any suggestions welcome

Common problem with the SV is the knocking, nothing serious to worry about.

You could polish the forks up to a nice shine, it is usually the clear laquer that makes the SV's forks look terrible. You can either add springs and oil to suit you weight, add Racetech Emulators, or go the GSXR SRAD front end route to improve the suspension.

The forks are not great on the SV but they can be improved with the above methods.
