Easy switched live feed?
Wanting to fit both a set of heated grips (now that the warm weather is here... ahem) as well as a phone charger plug-in point under the passenger seat, I was wondering where there's a quickly accessible switched live feed for the accessories? I had thought about using the starter solenoid live feed, but that's not switched and I want the accessories to switch off when the ignitionj is off to stop the risk of a flattened battery.

Bibio makes an amazing gadget that gives you a couple of switched feeds. I just can't find any links or anything

Re: Easy switched live feed?
There was a switched and fused live feed in the headlight bucket of my '00, put there by the factory, so I used it for my grip heaters.
As is shows on the wiring diagram, there's both a brown wire (hot) and a black with white tracer (ground). Last edited by wideguy; 15-04-15 at 12:43 PM. |

Re: Easy switched live feed?
i'll bet it was part of the main loom. using a separate item such as the gizmo ensures that you cant burn any part of the loom out if something happens and its also transferable to other bikes if you decide to change your bike. once bought always got.

Re: Easy switched live feed?
It is indeed, it's part of the front turn signal circuit, which is fused to ensure that if anything goes wrong, the fuse melts.
