1998/99 gs500e
Selling the GS500 as another project has appeared and is nearing MOT time so this one has to go. MOT till Mid Feb 2015, Tax till end of July 2014.
Bought in Dec 2012 from another SV forum member. Fitted new fork stanchions/bushes/oil/seals as well as rear brake caliper rebuild with new slider pins & pads. This got it through the MOT. A carb rebuild with ultrasonic clean and new air filter got it running much better. Fitted slightly bigger mains and lifted the needles one notch too. With no other 'projects' on the go I kind of fettled with it during the summer. A GSX600 teapot shock was fitted to firm the rear up (raised the back 20mm too) and Hyperpro progressive springs fitted to the front. New genuine disc, EBC pads and a goodridge hose were fitted to make the best of the front brake. R6 rectifier fitted and a new stator too as it seemed to drain battery with main light on. This turned out to be the cheap new battery I fitted for the first MOT. I left the bike for 4 or 5 months after MOT'ing it and I think this did for the battery. Since fitting a new YUASA a month ago all has been good. The ditchfinder rear tyre was replaced with a new BT45 end of October. I am going to try and fit a new front end of this week as it has a slow puncture. Oil and filter done 1000 miles ago. Currently on 23500 ish but going up as I use it everyday. Cosmetically its so so. The frame had been hand painted but without rubbing down the old paint (which was probably a good thing). The panels don't have cracks and stay on by themselves but have some marks around the grab rail - like a brake fluid spill? I didn't buy it to admire lol, Come have a look if you're interested. Located near Southend on Sea. £650 ono This is a pic at the Dec2012 MOT will try and get a more recent pic up soon.

IIRC the gs500e was voted the worst bike in the history of mankind ever.
But with your tweakings it might be quite fun.
