So...What kills batteries?
Hello all you helpful people..
I have a battery problem, as you may have guessed... On Sunday, I tried to start my bike, after leaving it (as usual) on my drive since Friday. One pathetic attempt to turn over, then just the solenoid clicking. Obviously a flat battery. I tried to charge it overnight with an ordinary charger, with no luck. I have since got an Optimate 3 and charged it overnight. However, it says that the battery is not holding charge (red LED). The battery is only a few months old, so my question is: What could have caused the battery to die so quickly? Is it likely to be the regulator/rectifier or have I killed it by trying to charge it too quickly with a cheapy halfords charger? For information the battery is a Yuasa sealed cell, a direct replacement of the original Thanks for your patience.... Steve |
