Front fork help
I have been sold a lemon of a bike, trousers round the ancles job but can anyone help me with what i have on the front fork setup?
some images of whats there: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y71/benjo4283/ if anyone can tell me what emulator type these are, if they are! i know they arent the usual racetech ones. even better would be to help me set them up. i have initially tried 20wt but they were too stiff to compress atall, so i went to 10 wt but its still a bit syrup ish on the damping. in the top of the actual damper rod i am 1.5 turns out from fully in on the screw in the top(not seen in pics) and have the top preload adjuster screwed on as far as posible onto the damper rod. I know the feel of good 400 forks and these feel poo. any ideas would be appreciated. cheers Ben |

Re: Front fork help
pics shown are in the order they came apart, sorry about the image quality.
Fluid height is 130mm from the top, measured after pumping damper rod and leaving in the down position. |

Re: Front fork help
Looks more like a cartridge than an emulator to me.

Re: Front fork help
Thats an R6 cartridge. You need 5w oil and 110mm air gap and the rebound screw adjuster 2 turns wound out from fully in.

Failing that we have always used a Racetec emmulator / ktech or ohlins fork spring setup with oil/airgap to suit the rider. That works very well. PM me if you want more info on that. |
