Vintage film cameras

Polaroids were always about convenience over quality but it's your gig! Lomo do some Polaroid film I think? You know all the places to look anyway. Also there is the Fuji instax or something like that? Not sure what other instants there are around, I remember having one as a kid, great big thing, no idea what make it was, you had to peel the front off the prints after they'd been in your armpit for 5 mins developing.

Picked this up last night, belonged to the grandfather of someone on Gumtree:

At first sight it's an old 120 folder, a Certo Dolly Super Sport, made in Germany in 1937. It is however fairly advanced for its time and quite heavy on features. Carl Zeiss Jena 75mm Tessar, uncoated due to its vintage. Compur Rapid shutter going up to 1/400th (with a very heavy second spring). Helical unit focus with coupled rangefinder, separate viewfinder with adjustable masks. Dual format 645 or 6x6 via film plane masks, also removable back for glass plates, and removable lens for use in an enlarge, microscope etc. Red windows under a flap on the back (which doubles as a notepad), but for 6x6 there is also a rudimentary counter on the dial of the supply spool (which can also be wound backwards, not seen that before). It's already got a film in, just one shot taken, so will finish it off and see how it looks. Tenner! Also came with a Kodak Brownie Popular box camera.

Depending on how long the film has been in there could mean that the emulsion has gone inactive. We found a Brownie D with a 1950s film in and the shots we took didn't work. Residule images were ok though. Nice bit of kit, was it much if you don't mind me asking? I have a 120 camera that can take plates as well. Called an Envoy Wide Angle I think. I think they go for around £30 on ebay but I didn't peruse the ads for condition etc. Am hoping they will be able to find the masks and plates that go with it, they are not obviously camera items but have sent the seller a link to some pics in case they do find them. Not a scooby how old the film is, the lady had obviously never seen the camera open as they were surprised to see what was in the little box which they knew were a camera but that's about it - I had to tell them how to get it out of the case so they could tell me what it was.
