Default curvy won't start

Hi all, just finished work and went to start the bike but nothing happened when I pressed the starter, it didn't even click. Went through some basics, battery seems fine, killswitch was in the on spot, all other electrics working and could see no breaks (no tools to dig around much though) and the only thing I noticed was that if I put it in gear and pull in the clutch it still resists moving. It's not a huge amount of resistance and can be pushed through to some degree but it's definitely there and similar to trying to push it in gear.
Makes me think that it won't start as the bike thinks the clutch isn't pulled in.
Does that sound likely from my description? If so what do I do about it? At the handle the clutch cable moved normally, and I haven't noticed anything riding. I don't know if I need to worry about the cable, plates or anything else?

As always any help is appreciated

There's a microswitch under the clutch lever. If it fails the bike wont start. Cheap fix.

Particularly when cold the oil drag makes the clutch grip a bit, put it in neutral, if it's still hard to push then something is wrong, otherwise that's normal.
Neutral switch also connects to starter lockout system, as do clutch and stand switches - does it start in neutral?
