Default Five Champions---Eighteen Cylinders.

Went to the Post TT at Mallory yesterday.Great day out with some good racing, but the highlight had to be seeing (and hearing)four classic GP MV Agustas and a works BSA Rocket Three cicuiting Mallory piloted by Ago Read Surtees Cooper and another former works MV rider(?Bonoiri)What a sight. And what a noise.Unforgetable.I don't know what his connections are ,but John Cooper also managed to get the Red Arrows to do an unofficial fly past which took all by surprise, including the commentary team
The paddock was full of classic GP bikes including a dozen MVs and a similar collection of works Hondas, and several BSA Triumph triples.I lost count of the Manx Nortons and Ducatis.
Much cheaper than Goodwood too.

I don't have a digicam so no pics, but I'm sure there must be others who went and took some.
So who had their pic taken with Ago then?
Incidently how many World Championships do Ago,Read and Surtees hold between them? You don't see that many crammed into a few yards around the hairpin very often.

I couldn't make it this year but it's well worth the money to mingle with yer boyhood hero's and the sound of the machines is awesome. last year they had the Honda six replica running now that howl firmly trumps any v4 2 stroke

Yeah you're right! There wasn't one there this year. 'Only' had MV's and 250-4's to listen to.

Sounds great, I'm really dissapointed I missed it.
Its a cracking ride to Mallory from my house too.

I have a picture on my study wall of John Cooper and Mike Hailwood on the grid at Brands in 1965, the photo is signed by John Cooper.
