Default oil filter leak

I've made a bit of a mass on my last oil change. I'm pretty sure I've over tightened the oil filter and I've got a tiny leak.

Is there any way I can correct this without taking the filter off(loosen off slightly)?

If not, I'll drop the oil and re-seat the filter and reuse the oil.

Bike is a daytona 675

Ta!

the only time you can over tighten an oil filter is when you tighten that much you strip the threads then it goes loose.

you should always 'spin' and oil filter on. if there is any resistance till the filter gasket hits the mating face of the engine then you have x-threaded it. oil filters only need to be 'hand tight' then a half turn.

always lightly oil the gasket of a new filter.
always clean the mating face of the engine.
always 'spin' a filter on.

I don't get it then... I don't remember any resistance when spinning the filter on, I did hand tight and then a bit - that's where I though the overtight came from. I've definitely didn't go that far to strip it.

I'll get a new filter and reuse the oil, once I have the fairings off, I can investigate further...

I've never had an issue with this before either :/

Cheers!

The o ring on the filter might be creased or damaged. Id replace it just to be safe, they are relatively inexpensive, its just a faff to drop oil again etc.
