A chap is selling SV650 lookalike mini motos on ebay for £160 + postage.
Must say that they look like superb fun. Has anyone got one of these pocket bikes or at least ridden one. What are they like? Must say im tempted.........but the missus will kill me! |

Check its CE approved, if not its being illegally sold in the uk as they interfere with ambulance/fire service radios...
alot of the cheap ones are dodgy imports if not then great!! |

Cheers for that. There does tend to be quite a difference in the prices.

I've seen a lot of them (over the summer) in my hometown, Barry. Most of them were being ridden without safety gear and either on roads or walkways. Presumably, judging by the the way they were ridden, by scallies whose previous experience of bikes has been limited to quick joyrides on stolen ones, in their youth.
I saw a pair of kids, couldn't be more than 8 years old, with no safety gear on, on them over the Christmas break. They were pretty tricked up looking ones, much nicer looking than most minimotos. Accident waiting to happen... I'd be up for having a go on one at a race track, sort of motorbike karting, but most seem to be used on the road from what I can see |

yep, that appears to be the problem, they are not a lot of use unless you are rich enough to have your own go kart track in the back yard. They are obviously not street legal and i can see the police cracking down on them like the motorised scooters when they became popular.
Having said that, they do look like great fun!! |

That is the problem..........Where am i going to use it?
Can you just turn up at kart tracks with them? (assuming they dont have any meetings! ) Also, are the cheaper ones £160-£200 not worth getting? Cheers |

Thanks for the advice. Looks though i will be trying to convince some mates to have a day out and hire one first. Sure it will be fun but guess its only right to try before you buy!

Got some lovely Midi Motos rather than the mini's in the yamaha dealer round the corner from work, £700 but they are just like mini real bikes, proper solid frame, suspension etc, unlike the cheap tat most of them are... will do 70mph, i'd imagine scary as hell
Lovely |
