Bar End Mirrors for Curvy?
Hi Guys
I have always been a fan of the bar end mirrors and think they would look great on my K2 SV650. Does anyone have any experience with ones that have proved to be decent? I have checked eBay and there are a few I like (Example) Is it just me or are they "too" cheap to be good? Also, what are my MOT implications with them? Im in Northern Ireland and I as far as I am aware there arent differences in a mainland UK MOT and one this side of the water (I could be wrong). Any feedback appreciated. Robert |

Re: Bar End Mirrors
Don't know if they are any good, buy cheap pay twice sometimes rings true, but some of the chinese stuff is ok.
I know these ones are twice the price, but British made and good quality http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBERON-STR...item484437f950

Re: Bar End Mirrors for Curvy?
Thanks for the suggestions. Im not close to my bike at the moment so cant measure, does anyone know if the diameter of the bars (standard) are 7/8" or 1"?
Thanks Robert |

The ones you linked to have adjustable sizes. I'm sure they will fit. You just remove bits of metal from the "bung" if it is too big

Re: Bar End Mirrors for Curvy?
Im leaning more towards the Oberon ones. I like the fact they can be placed at the top or at the very end of the bar.
They come in two sizes for 7/8" or 1"......I wont be near the bike until Friday so was just a case if someone knows to save me waiting (Yes!, im that impatient) Robert |

Re: Bar End Mirrors for Curvy?
I have Oberon oval mirrors on my naked.
Love them, excellent quality and after a bit of getting used to, half decent view through them. I am at work at the minute but will try and get a pic up soon. |

Re: Bar End Mirrors for Curvy?
I've got similar on my bike. The main thing is have you got room on the end of the bars beyond the throttle tube to fit them? Mirrors are not part of the the MOT, technically you don't have to have any fitted to be legal although I wouldn't recommend it. One thing I would say is with mine the lenses are quite curved which tends to make things look further away than they really are. Not a problem as long as you are aware of it.
ps: I forgot, they are a right pain when filtering as well! Last edited by Red Herring; 04-03-12 at 09:44 PM. |
