Re: Motorcycle Insurance 2017?
I have fitted bungs to the rear of my SV but they are for my Paddock stand.I would think I'll have to check with Bennets.I never bother with 3rd party of 3rd party Fire and Theft. For the small difference I always go fully comp.

You do have to declare that any mods are within those allowed in the list. Obviously if it needs repairing under the policy it's back to stock

Re: Motorcycle Insurance 2017?
Bungs can cause a lot of damage, on the later Monsters they bolt onto the long bolt that goes through the rear engine casings, the casing is not very strong/thick & there have been cases where a bike has gone down on the bung, which has caused the casing to break.

Re: Motorcycle Insurance 2017?
That sounds ideal. Shame they don't publish the list. I'll give them a ring on Thursday. Online they're a bit more expensive that Bennetts, but since I'll be changing my bike in a few months I'd be hit with a £35 charge for change in any case.

Years ago I had a Z1300 with crash bars on. I lost it on a gravelly bend and it went down on the crashbar. The mount end of the crashbar was bent, hitting and tearing the oil pressure sensor and a chunk of metal containing the threaded hole it screwed into out of the crankcase. I managed to bodge it back together with Belzona and sold it. The best crash protection lies between your ears. Don't ride like a tit and you should be fine. |

One last parting shot from the EU loony bin means that all our insurance premiums will rise this March, the sooner we leave those idiots behind and no longer have to pay for their wasteful ways and loony ideas the better.

Use the thing between your ears to monitor the weather and leave the bike at home when there's an ice risk.
All the forecast information you'll ever need to succesfully avoid black ice is but a few mouse clicks away. (mouse clicks...? showing my age..... ) |
