Default What makes you love motorbikes?

I've just come back from my first evening bimble for ages I only did 90 miles and I'm completely in love with biking and my bike again.

I can't quite say it properly why I love being out on the bike, I think its partly the freedom, partly the great roads that are right on my doorstep, or the feeling of getting out there and being where I feel the most comfortable and relaxed. I just love being out on my bike and not having a worry in the world.

Before anyone that knows me well enough asks, yes I was playing on The Dukes Pass tonight.

So anyway what really makes you love the stupidity that is riding a motorbike?

I've made a whole new set of friends since I bought a bike. 2 weeks ago I had afternoon tea in a posh frock at Kensington Palace Orangery with a group of fabulous ladies I met through here. Not a bike in sight that day. And I'm off to Wensleydale in a couple of weeks on a Wallace & Grommit style cheese holiday. Mr LPH does not share my love of cheese but another Orger does.

I will almost certainly agree with all the other reasons posted up here, but when on impulse I took my bike test to use up some carried over annual leave and blow my Christmas bonus on something fun in January 2008 I never expected owning a bike would have such a positive effect on my social life.

All of the above, especially the freedom and also I think biking is a great addition to someone's character.
For me biking is a brilliant way to clear my head which I struggle doing any other way

Can't really say. It started as a cheap and quick way of commuting, then as a hobby, then small trips, then long trips, and now has become a way of life. The only thing i can say, can't be without it.

Not getting stuck in traffic is one of my favourite features. On a nornal day the bike is no quicker than my car, allowing for changing into leathers. But when Ruislip is gridlocked I can still get home. Oh, and I can overtake all the dawdlers in their Nissan micras. And it's fun to ride too...
