Default RST Tractech Leathers

I bought a set of RST Tractech leathers end of July. Between then and now I've worn them maybe a handful of times. I've been caught out in the rain once but promptly wiped them down and left them to dry naturally.

Last month I've noticed they were starting to bubble and crack so got them sent off to RST which have just informed me they are water damaged and will continue to deteriorate and eventually fall apart and they no longer want anything to do with it.

These cost me over £400 a few months ago and they're basically telling me that because they got wet once, they're ruined? I've had a few budget sets of leathers in the past, worn in all weathers and they are holding up fine after years of use. These didn't last 2 months.

Do I just have to suck it up and accept I've wasted £400 or is there something I can do?

Thanks and sorry for the rant. I'm a little p***** off as you can imagine.

so how have cows and kangeroos managed all these years when it rains, they dont seem to fall apart ,citizens advice is your best bet as i think rst is trying to fob you off,was there a label on them saying dont ride in the rain or get them wet

I'd also like to add one of my mates was out with me when we got caught out in the rain and he was wearing his 2014 RST Tractech leathers and his are holding up just fine?

Bought end of July 2015? I would say that they are not fit for purpose, unless they have a label in them stating they must not under any circumstances be worn in the rain/got wet.

Yep. Just before 20th July.

They offered me some leather cleaner as what I'm assuming is a "goodwill gesture". What good is that? They weren't dirty to begin with and a ~£10 bottle of cleaner isn't going to make up for the cost of the leathers.
