Default Euro loop version 1.00

Hey people,
Just been planning a month long central european loop with a couple of mates and thought i should share the route and see if anyone has any useful or interesting comments.

Also would be good to catch up if anyone is around the same areas when we are there.

Planning to leave on the 23rd of May and back on the 21st of June.

Route isn't final yet and we want to keep it reasonably flexible anyway.

let me know what you think

I know you are pushing for time on your trip, but I would recommend heading through the BlackForest (Schwarzwald) near or on the B500 which is the legendary biking road.

Also "nearby" is the Pfalzerwald south of Kaiserslautern. Biking twisty heaven on perfect surfaces, pretty much devoid of tourists (plenty of local bikers).

Both better than the Vosges west of Colmar I thought.

Can't tell if you are doing the Stelvio pass in Italy, but thats a must. The east side is gnarly and the one you see in all the pics, the west side is better surfaced and more open. Breath taking (literally when you are up the top) ,roads and views. North of Bormio.

If you are going as far as Croatia the "8" road down the coast , eventually to Split is suppossed to be a classic and is on the must do list.

Good stuff here:

Can't imagine anything better than getting to feck away on the bikes for 4 weeks. Have a good one.

The Roads look a little straight, are you only using old Roman Roads ?

Also I'd spend a while in the Alps, some amazing roads there.

Dood - looks amazing. Dont miss out the Vosges - it has some of the best riding - stop here on the 1st or 2nd night. This is a link to a trip I did a couple of years back. I pretty much linked as many passes as I could in a couple of weeks. Similar to Tim's from memory.

When in Croatia take a trip all the way down to at least Zadar - (Split and Dubrovnik if you have time but its only another day - that coast road is amazing.
