valves
what risks am i running by not doing the 15k valves check, i've done everything else except the valves
now about 1300 overdue and i still don't have the room to do it so what risks (i.e. likeyhood of damaged or something) am i taking by leaving them for say a further 2000 miles? |

Re: valves
Well if the clearances are out, Mr Valve may interact with Mr Piston and then you have an expensive rebuild to do.
But from the threads on this before I've read many bikes get to that sort of milleages and when the valve clearances are checked they're fine. Personally I'd get it checked...

Re: valves
Widepants ...its a twonk to do, but its necessary. They usually tighten up rather than get larger, and usually on the exhaust side.
Be prepared for skinned knuckles, and take the back wheel out to get at the rear cam chain tensioner
